Maybach has a very rich history, and the German brand intends to recall it with a new Mercedes Maybach S-class V12 motor for the manufacturer's centenary.
In 1921, a young luxury brand launched its first car. The Maybach W2 was born and became the first German car with four independent brakes and gearbox with planetary. Under this huge hood was a six-cylinder line of 5.7 liters developing the 70 HP trifle.
Times have changed, but Maybach's original spirit ("the best of the best") has not moved. Now fully integrated with Mercedes, the Maybach label is reserved for models such as the GLS and the S-class.
Just for Maybach's 100th anniversary, Mercedes unveils a first image of the new class S W223 in a long wheelbase (a "Pullman" whose presentation has not yet taken place) with a confirmation: the presence of the supercharged V12 6.0 under the hood. An engine that disappeared at Mercedes, soon replaced by a hybrid V8 biturbo on the new S65 AMG, which will change its name for the occasion.
For the-rich-melancholy of the creaminess of the V12, it will remain the ultra luxury at Maybach.
