The Vinfast brand is preparing to market its first 100% electric models in Europe. The rates should be very competitive.
A new wave of hover cars from afar is invading Europe. If we are still very far from the tsunami, the fact remains that these cars assembled in China could quickly become a thorn in the side in the face of the offer of traditional manufacturers. And even if the network is weak and the discount of these cars is very uncertain, there is a solution: leasing. These brands therefore have a real shot to play, and after the Chinese offer, here is the one from Vietnam.
We now know a little more about Vinfast, the Vietnamese car manufacturer which plans to arrive in Europe in the coming months. This will be done with two electric cars, very distinct in terms of performance and size.
The first, a 4.3 meter long SUV called VF31, which will carry a 42 kWh battery and will offer two power levels: 114 hp and 204 hp (320 Nm). The VF32 will measure 4.76 meters and will be entitled to a basic version with 204 hp and a more efficient variant with 408 hp and nearly 650 Nm of torque, with a 90 kWh battery. A third model (a huge 5.12 meter SUV) is also planned with a 106 kWh battery and two 204 hp motors, but its marketing in Europe is not certain.
There will be a particularity to these cars: the presence of a large number of driving aids (autonomous level 2/3 depending on the version), and even a version with level 4
The smallest, the VF31, announces 300 km of autonomy. With a generous wheelbase of more than 2.6 meters, it could prove interesting against European electric crossovers and compact SUVs if its price is very aggressive. Which should logically be the case: it is already enough to see the positioning of the MG models, produced in China, to realize that the price war has only just begun.
Orders are scheduled to open in November, with deliveries in mid-2022 in Europe.
