A few weeks after the utility, Opel unveils the electric version of the Combo Life, with a range of 280 km.
Already announced on the utility model, the electric motorization also arrives under the hood of the Combo intended for individuals. The technical sheet obviously does not reserve any surprises. This Combo-e Life receives the same block as the Corsa-e, an engine which develops 100 kW, or 136 hp, and gives a maximum torque of 260 Nm. The performances are modest, with a 0 to 100 km/h achieved in 11.2 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 130 km/h.
The model is equipped with a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery. The combined autonomy with the WLTP cycle is 280 km. That's fair enough for a family vehicle. In its press release, Opel also writes that the model "is particularly aimed at young families living in or near cities". Multiple means are possible to refuel, from the simple household outlet to the fast charging station. With a 100 kW public terminal, 80% of the charge is found in 30 minutes. The "Free2Move Services" application allows you to find a charging station, and to have information on charging speed and prices.
The good point is that the battery is housed under the floor, between the axles. It therefore does not disturb the interior volumes. This Combo-e Life is available in two lengths (4.40 or 4.75 meters), with five or seven seats. The trunk has a volume of 597 liters in the short version, 850 liters in the XL version. The rear seats (1/3-2/3 bench or three individual seats) fold down easily, with a maximum volume reaching 2,126 and 2,693 litres. The passenger seat is foldable, so you can carry long objects.
We find the equipment of the other Combo Life, with for example the panoramic roof accompanied by a console that runs along the roof and a large closed storage above the trunk. On the safety side, there is the driver's vigilance detector, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and the 180° reversing camera. The Combo-e Life also features improved IntelliGrip traction control and downhill progression management.
The vehicle will be available this fall.
