Thanks to Cloud connectivity, Bosch has developed a system capable of informing vehicles of the presence of another, in the opposite direction. Skoda is the first manufacturer to adopt this device.
Skoda is the first manufacturer to adopt the Bosch system allowing drivers to be warned of a vehicle driving in the wrong direction. This system, which is based on the Cloud (remote data storage), is therefore very dependent on the connectivity of automobiles. But also the presence of a GPS in the car in question!
Indeed, the Bosch warning system analyzes millions of anonymous data from the GPS of vehicles on the road. If the direction of the vehicle conflicts with the direction of traffic, an alert is issued to all vehicles equipped with this Bosch system in the area. More surprisingly, there are also alerts to warn the driver that he himself is driving in the wrong direction. In case...
Bosch hopes that as many vehicles as possible will be equipped with the application to refine real-time alerts. Other partner apps on mobile have also adopted the Bosch Alert, reaching some 26 million people on the road.
At Skoda, the models that will have the Bosch system natively (with high-end infotainment) are the following: Superb, Scala, Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq.
