The C5 replacement, launched by the end of this year, will only be produced in China.
Our car of the day is a car made in china. Not a Chinese, but French nationality: the next family sedan of Citroën.Unveiled in a few weeks, the one that could revive the name C6 will be produced in the Middle Empire ... and only there. As Challenges indicates, the copies sold in Europe will therefore be imported from Asia.
This is not a first for a French brand, since at DS, it will be the same with the DS 9, which will end up joining the concessions by the end of 2021.And other big European names have opted for a similar strategy on certain models, for example the IX3 at BMW and the S90 at Volvo.
The choice of 100 % Chinese production for the next Grande Citroën follows an industrial logic. The brand expects the main outlet of the model to be China, a country where sedans still have the rating (this is for example the first market C), while in Europe, SUVs have largelytook over.
And obviously, Citroën does not hope for any miracle for Europe, where it plans to arise only 15,000 to 20,000 copies of the car per year!Inconceivable to imagine a production in France for such a low quantity, in addition to Chinese manufacturing, necessary, it, to have a competitive price on site.
This new sedan will rather have a role of image with us.The important family vehicle for sales in Europe will remain the C5 Aircross, made in France.
