Former Volkswagen Group CEO Martin Winterkorn has reportedly reached a settlement with his former employer over the diesegalte scandal. His insurance would pay 10 million euros in compensation.
After the storm, it was time for Volkswagen to find those responsible and make them pay. The German giant has indeed negotiated with its former CEO, Martin Winterkorn, for compensation under the dieselgate. The scandal having erupted in 2015, it was indeed Martin Winterkorn who was at the helm, and as CEO, despite certain assertions, he could not have been unaware of the actions of his teams, particularly in the United States in the within the VW North America subsidiary. According to Business Insider, Martin Winterkorn has reached an agreement with his former employer. The former CEO will have to pay 10 million euros in compensation to the Volkswagen Group. A sum which should be validated during the summer by a meeting of the main shareholders.
In total, VW is claiming damages from six former executives, including Martin Winterkorn.
