Logistics for the routing of electric cars in concession is more expensive and complex. Some Volkswagen dealers in Germany are thinking of passing the cost on the customer.
So far, the delivery of new vehicles from storage centers to dealerships for delivery to the customer in Germany was covered by a commission paid by manufacturers to distributors. This allowed them to cover the costs linked to this logistics, between reception, cleaning and preparation of the vehicle before delivery. An additional cost "transparent" for the customer since it was integrated into the purchase of the vehicle.
But with the arrival of the electric car, this commission would no longer be sufficient.According to some German dealers, the amount for the delivery of electric vehicles would amount to € 300 per car, which exceeds the commission advanced by the manufacturer.
Consequence: some of these dealers would like to be able to ask customers to now pay two invoices. The first for the final purchase of the car, and the second for its routing."The costs we support for cleaning and technical preparation of vehicles for delivery to the customer must now be paid separately" (Automobilwoche).
The famous "Road/available costs" which are sometimes invoiced to the customer in France, in addition to the net value of the vehicle. However, these costs are supposed to be already included in the final price of the vehicle.Costs which are sometimes strongly "inflated", artificially, by dealers who benefit.
And watch out for these costs! They must already be understood in the price of the vehicle, and not billed in addition (the displayed price of the vehicle is that which must be paid, excluding registration fees), as recalled by the DGCCRF (Directorate General for Competition, consumption and repression of fraud):
