The fifth generation of the Sportage will be unveiled on June 8. The teasers announce a more radical design.
Korean manufacturers have a taste for risk! Even when one of their vehicles is successful, they don't hesitate to change everything for the next generation. We recently saw it with the Hyundai Tucson and Kia is about to demonstrate it with the new generation of the Sportage.
This will already be the fifth version. It will be unveiled on June 8, but the manufacturer is showing us the main lines today with these three teasers. And we therefore guess a radically transformed silhouette.
For example, the side glazing, which stopped dead after the rear door on the last two versions, will extend to the rear window. Enough to visually lengthen the vehicle. Above all, we expect to discover an original face! The headlights and the large grille will form a continuous block, cut by a light signature that will run up the length of the bonnet.
The revolution will also take place inside. The presentation will take a leap in time with the adoption of a banner encompassing the instrumentation and infotainment screens, a layout inaugurated at Kia by the EV6 electric model. In the press release that accompanies these teasers, Kia recalls its desire to go upmarket.
Like its technical cousin the Tucson, the new Sportage will emphasize hybridization. It will notably offer a rechargeable version.
