The Brussels region has officially put a date on the end of the circulation authorization for vehicles equipped with a combustion engine.
The thermal engine continues to lose ground in Europe, so it is no longer very surprising to say that it is already dead, or in any case scheduled to retire definitively. Here is precisely an additional nail in the coffin of the traditional engine since the Brussels region has confirmed the ban on all heat engines from 2035. This concerns the entire Brussels area with the 19 neighboring municipalities.
Brussels does not beat around the bush since the first phase will consist of a ban on the circulation of thermal scooters from 2028, followed by motorcycles from 2035. From 2030, diesel-powered vehicles will no longer be able to circulate The area.
The complete banishment will take place, for the automobile, in 20335 since even rechargeable hybrids will not have the right to pass through the Brussels conurbation, which will only authorize buses and other trucks for which alternative solutions are still lacking. But these vehicles will then have to meet very strict pollution control standards, which will force operators to renew the fleet if it is not modern enough.
