Lamborghini today unveils its future, which will take place in three phases. The last will include a 100% electric car.
The ecological transition will sooner or later affect the "refractory". Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini all have different forms of electrification already in their plans. Today, Lamborghini is announcing the content of the current decade, with a 1.5 billion euro investment plan divided into three phases.
Phase 1: "celebrate the combustion engine" (2021-2022)Over the current two years, Lamborghini will launch two new V12-powered models, which will be announced in 2021. It seems highly likely that these will be versions based on the already existing platform, and therefore close to the Aventador which has already used in particular for the development of Sian.
Phase 2: "the hybrid transition" (until the end of 2024)The second phase will make the transition from all-thermal to a more electrified future. Lamborghini, which has already opened the ball with the small hybridization on the Sian, plans to launch its first range of hybrid cars from 2023. From the end of 2024, "the entire catalog will be electrified", and therefore hybrid. The descendants of the Aventador and the Huracan will therefore be hybrids, just like the Urus which will switch to partial electrification. The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% from the start of 2025.
Phase 3: "the first electric Lamborghini"The objective for Lamborghini is to move towards its first 100% electric car, which will be launched in the second half of the decade. A fourth battery-powered model will join the two existing coupes and the Urus SUV.
