Lotus is launching a new version of its Certified Used Car program in the UK. The "Lotus Approved" will subsequently be extended to other European markets.
Buying a used car can sometimes prove to be an obstacle course for non-experts, but it is probably even more complex when it comes to sports vehicles, whose sometimes abusive use on the circuit can lead to significant stresses and mechanical wear.
To reassure customers and retain potential buyers a little more, Lotus is (re)launching its certified second-hand program, called Lotus Approved. Now, the program is extended to all Lotus vehicles up to 20 years old. The advantage for the buyer who will go through this service is that he will benefit from a certificate, all the history and a 12-month guarantee.
On the seller's side, for his Lotus to be accepted by the "Approved" service, it will have to pass through the hands of a technician who will scrupulously check many points. He will also carry out a road test and a minor overhaul if necessary.
Lotus joins the long list of top-of-the-range brands (Porsche with "Approved", Lamborghini with "Selezione"...) which have a specific certification network for the sale of used models, which thus maintain a slightly more sustained throughout their lives.
