The fourth generation of the X-Trail will be available with the electrified e-Power engine.
Nissan has finally formalized the arrival of the fourth generation of the X-Trail in Europe. But those who wish to replace their current model will have to be patient. The vehicle will join our showrooms in the summer of 2022! Almost two years after the launch of its American twin, the Rogue.
The Old Continent is therefore not a priority for this new X-Trail, which will first be launched in China (where it is making its debut today at the Shanghai Motor Show). At home, Nissan is betting above all on the Qashqai, the third generation of which will be on sale in a few weeks.
Based on the Alliance's new CMF-C platform, the X-Trail 4 will be available from its European launch with the electrified e-Power engine. With it, the car moves forward thanks to the sole force of the electric motor (it makes 190 hp on the Qashqai).
The thermal block is used to generate electricity. This allows it to always be used in its optimum speed range, in order to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This X-Trail will be offered with all-wheel drive. Like its little brother, it will however ignore the diesel.
Of course, the X-Trail will keep its main advantage over the Qashqai: its third row of seats, which allows it to carry up to 7 people. Side look, no surprise, since the model is identical to the Rogue already on sale in the United States.
We thus have an X-Trail with more taut and more angular lines. The face incorporates a large V-shaped grille and an original two-stage look. The model goes fashionable two-tone silhouette The dashboard is similar to that of the Qashqai, with however a larger touch screen. Perhaps it will be reserved for the Chinese market.
We will therefore still have to wait to have the European specificities.
