Nissan announces a forecast for 50 % electrified sales in Europe from 2023, obviously counting microhybridization. The manufacturer reveals as such the electrified engines that will be found on the new Qashqai.
Two or four -wheel drive, manual or automatic transmission Xtronic, microhybrid or hybrid, the new Qashqai will offer its share of innovations compared to the outgoing generation, which is clear as a commercial success.
To reach the 50 % electrified sales in Europe within three years, Nissan will have no choice: it will be necessary to sell a maximum of Qashqai à Batteries. But like many other manufacturers, the term "electrified" is not limited to pure electric or hybrid, since it also has the microhybrid.Questionable, for some, but it allows to inflate the figures.
On the new Qashqai, the four -cylinder 1.3 turbocharged from the joint work between the Renault-Nissan and Daimler alliance will be associated with a small lithium battery and an electric motor providing 6 Nm for 20 seconds.Braking energy recovery is obviously part, as is the free wheel mode, only present on the Qashqai with the Xtronic automatic transmission.
Small difference however with a good part of the competition: the network remains here in 12V and does not go to 48V.The entire microhybridization weighs only 22 kg according to Nissan, and makes it possible to obtain a gain up to 4 g/km of CO2 compared to an equivalent petrol.
The Qashqai will thus be declined in two versions: 140 and 158 hp, the all -wheel drive (which has gained in responsiveness compared to the previous generation) being only proposed on the most powerful of the two.
Qashqai e-PowerNissan will therefore launch its E-Power technology in Europe with the arrival of the new Qashqai. At the time of rationalization advocated by the boss of the Renault group and the decrease in specific platforms, this is an exception to the vestiges of the Ghosn era.Qashqai e-Power is a hybrid, since there is a thermal engine.
A four -cylinder 1.5 of 157 hp atmospheric with a particularity: a variable compression rate.A specificity (vc) not new since it is infiniti, the premium branch of Nissan, which had the premiere. It is a question of slightly varying the displacement in real time with a system of annexed switch to the cylinder. The thermal part is therefore very different from that of the E-Power note (1.2 three cylinders) offered in Japan for a long time.
The goal is to offer the best possible performance, since this engine never trains the wheels: it is only connected to the battery and serves as a current generator to supply it.It is the battery which then provides its energy to the 190 hp engine on the front axle.Unfortunately, Nissan does not yet specify its capacity.
The big advantage of the e-power compared to a classic essence will be the gain in urban cycle consumption. On a fast track, on the other hand, it should be clearly more questionable...business.
