Radars in vehicles driven by private drivers are becoming more democratic. After Normandy or Brittany, they arrived in new French regions.
You may have already received a speeding ticket without seeing a single flash on the horizon, not the shadow of a radar sign, and not a law enforcement car parked on the side side with a policeman or a gendarme with binoculars. You probably passed a little too fast near a radar in a vehicle. We have been talking about it for a few years, but until now it has been confined to two or three regions in the west and centre of France.
We will now have to be particularly vigilant in other regions as on-board radars are becoming more democratic. The State will deploy 120 additional vehicles in the following regions: Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
Remember that these vehicles can flash both in your direction (especially if you double them), but also if you cross them. A total of 450 onboard radars will be on French roads in the coming months. These cars, driven by private drivers, can run for up to 6 hours a day, including weekends. So, beware.
