Porsche reveals the Nürburgring time of its 911 GT2 RS with the "Mantey" package. With its 6 minutes and 43 seconds, it officially becomes the fastest production car, ahead of the AMG GT Black Series.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS became the fastest production car on the Nürburgring circuit on June 14, narrowly beating the Mercedes AMG GT Black Series and the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ: 6:43:600, or 5 seconds better than the star rival, at an average speed of 185 km/h.

But to get there, Porsche had to go all out by equipping its 911 GT2 RS with the Manthey Performance Kit and the Weissach Pack with ultra-light magnesium rims (11.4 kg less, all the same). All this consists in particular of a modification of the chassis, the aerodynamics (additional flaps, spoiler and specific diffuser) and the brakes in a car that is already very radical and designed for the track. The 700 bhp of the six-cylinder 3.8 biturbo connected to the PDK gearbox thus worked wonders, with driver Larks Kern at the wheel.
But as so often with records at the Nürburgring circuit (in its "new" formula of 20.8 km, 200 meters more than the old configuration), it will probably not be long before a rival points the end of its hood and improves the time.
