After having been at the initiative of two documentaries, the sports car manufacturer publishes a book which invites you to discover the new trends in hip-hop across Europe.
Automakers love nothing more than exploring unexpected territory. This is particularly the case of Porsche, which publishes a 212-page book exploring the new facets of the hip-hop movement on the Old Continent.
Porsche goes hip-hop
This book, logically baptized Hip-Hop Culture, constitutes the last phase of the Back 2 Tape project initiated in 2018, which saw the German specialized journalist Niko Hüls, editor-in-chief of the Hamburg magazine Backspin, embark on a road-trip of 5,000 km across Europe in a Porsche Cayenne S Coupé.
From Copenhagen to Barcelona, via Paris or London, the author thus went to meet musicians, DJs, street artists or dancers, that is to say 17 artists, France being notably represented by the musician Lord Esperanza.
The idea is to take an interest in what constitutes today's European urban culture, which seems to be built without taking into account borders or linguistic barriers.
Two documentaries were published in 2018 and 2020, and they are now followed by this guide with cultural aims, combining portraits and practical advice. It is also about fashion, integration, and cohesion of different peoples through a common culture. Nice project, then.
