With this new extended weekend, there will be people on the roads. Regions will be classified in red from Friday.
A week after the Ascension, it's Pentecost, the occasion of a second long weekend. In this context of deconfinement, with the reopening of cultural places and restaurant terraces, the French will still want to escape... and will therefore be numerous on the road.
Friday May 21Many will take the lead, so Bison Futé releases the red flag on Friday in the direction of departures. Better to leave Île-de-France before noon. It will be loaded in the direction of Normandy with the A13 Paris/Rouen/Caen until 9 p.m.! It will also get stuck from mid-afternoon until 9 p.m. on the A7 between Lyon and Orange, A9 between Orange, Montpellier and Narbonne and the A61 between Toulouse and Narbonne.
Saturday May 22Traffic will be busy all day on the main axes, in particular the A7, A9, A13. It won't calm down until after 5 p.m. You have to leave Paris before 8 a.m. or after 3 p.m. There will be major slowdowns on the A61 Toulouse/Narbonne from 10 to 12 hours.
Monday, May 24After a very green Sunday, it's time for returns. However, it will be less busy than for the end of Ascension, since the red is limited to Île-de-France. We must return to the capital before 3 p.m. It will be complicated on the A7 between Orange and Lyon from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Be careful on the A13 between Caen and Rouen, from 2 to 7 p.m. It will be difficult on the A9 and A61 between Narbonne, Montpellier and Toulouse at the end of the afternoon.
