At launch, the Renault Arkana was available with a 140 hp petrol unit and a 145 hp hybrid. The diamond brand is now adding a 160 hp petrol variant with 12V micro-hybridization.
The Arkana range is expanding. Launched in the spring in 140 hp micro-hybrid petrol and in 145 hp E-Tech hybrid, the first coupe SUV from the diamond brand gains a second petrol unit. Still based on the 1.3 TCE, this four-cylinder produces 160 hp and torque up by 20 Nm compared to the 140 hp version. Note that these two motors are 12V micro-hybridization.
The TCE 160 is approved for 130 g/km of CO2 and 5.7 l/100 km in the combined cycle, which allows it to avoid any penalties. In addition to this new mechanism integrated into the catalogue, Renault is announcing the "Stalling Stop" function on its TCE 140 and 160 petrol engines. This is in fact a "freewheel" mode when the driver releases the accelerator between 30 and 140 km/h. But unlike the equivalent from other manufacturers, here the function can be deactivated via the Multi Sense menu.
If the Captur, cousin of the Arkana, is offered in a rechargeable hybrid version, remember that Renault had not confirmed such a variation on its SUV coupé, which nevertheless shares all its technical bases with the Captur. For now, the only hybrid variant is the E-Tech 145 hp.
