The Stellantis group had already announced its absence from the Munich show, but there remained a doubt concerning Opel. The German brand, which will however launch its new Astra, will not be part of it. This greatly surprised the organizers.
For a surprise, it's a surprise. The bi-annual Munich Motor Show, which now replaces the Frankfurt Motor Show, will be the first major automotive event of the year in Europe. A party on German soil which will however be a little spoiled for the organizers since one of the oldest national manufacturers has just confirmed that it will not come.
Opel will not be there, just like the rest of the Stellantis group, surprisingly absent when the novelties were there. And in particular at Opel, which is preparing the launch of the all-new generation of Astra, currently in the final phase with the testing of pre-series prototypes.
A decision that visibly annoyed the organizer, the VDA, the association of German automobile manufacturers. Especially since the flashing brand plans to unveil the Astra a month before the Bavarian show.
If Stellantis (and therefore Peugeot, Citroën and DS) will be absent, the Renault group will be very present. The latter will notably unveil the new and highly anticipated generation of the Dacia Duster.
