L'accès aux données techniques des Tesla par ""valise"" à des tiers est enfin permis en Europe. The Californian manufacturer hitherto blocked these access, which was contrary to European rules.
It took a complaint from the ZDK, the German Automobile and Trade repair association, for things to move.Tesla has finally opened access to the diagnosis of its vehicles to independent repairers, something which is normally compulsory and which constitutes a European standard, in which we find article 61:
""Manufacturers provide independent operators with unlimited, standardized and non -discriminatory access to information of the OBD system of vehicles, diagnostic equipment and tools, including full references and available downloads from applicable software, as well as informationon the repair and maintenance of vehicles. This information is presented in an easily accessible manner, in the form of machine -readable data sets and electronically usable.Independent operators have access to remote diagnostic services used by manufacturers and approved dealerships and repairers.""
Tesla has folded the European requirements by opening the maintenance of the brand's cars to all independents. But the ZDK now complains of prohibitive prices, which will dissuade many repairers: € 30/h for simple access to the portal, and € 125/h for the use of the solution of diagnostic.Rates inevitably reflected in the customer's invoice. The association now intends to make this other claim heard with the European Commission.
The opening of diagnostic data will allow all repairers who wish to follow vehicles out of the Tesla network, as for any other brand.
