Tesla must perform an update on nearly 300,000 vehicles in China, the fault of a cruise control a little too easy to activate and considered dangerous by the Chinese authorities.
Even if Tesla's sales in China are not doing too badly, the Middle Kingdom is not always kind to the American brand, which has built its first Asian factory near Shanghai. After the episode of the Tesla data center in the sights of the Chinese authorities for suspicion of espionage, or even the dissatisfied customer who performed on the roof of a Model 3 at the Beijing Motor Show, now the American manufacturer is forced to recall nearly 300,000 cars in China.
Recall, or rather update the on-board car system remotely on 249,000 Model 3s and Model Ys made in China, and just over 35,000 Model 3s imported between the end of 2019 and June 2021. The problem? A cruise control which would be activated a little too easily and would be dangerous, in particular because it would suddenly increase the speed. Remember that it is activated by simply pressing the stalk located behind the steering wheel, which also serves as a gear lever.
