When will the billions invested by the Volkswagen group in electromobility pay?According to some analysts, German could exceed Tesla within 4 to 5 years.
Tesla has so far benefited from a windfall effect with the almost total absence of competition outside of small electric cars such as the Renault Zoe or the Nissan Leaf. But for how long ?The hare runs still in the lead, but according to analyst LMC Automotive, more for very long.
Volkswagen could indeed exceed Tesla by 2025 on a global scale, both in the annual number of electric vehicles sold, but also...in electric cars that have always been put into circulation.LMC provides that the Tesla curve is bending from 2025 as that of rivals is growing, going from 20 % in 2020 to 10 % in 2025.Volkswagen would go from 10 to 15 % global market share in the electric car over the same period.
The forecasts of this firm, however, do not include the "recharge" variable and the argument of the superchargers. If the Ionity network of German brands is progressing, it is still very far from the density of that of Tesla. But since the owners of electric vehicles largely recharge at home, is this really an argument that can always hold for Tesla?
